We continue to reach out to communities in rural areas where many are afraid to go. Bweyeye, in the middle of Nyungwe forest and bordering Burundi is one such place. Accessing the place takes a bumpy drive into the thick forest with only one public bus that works once a week. Residents there walk long distances to school and seek medical care.
Girls in Bweyeye don’t see a future beyond their environment. Marriage is a major goal for many. Cyizere Girls would like to change this mindset by empowering them through Vocational Education Training. By acquiring skills, the girls can compete favourable in their community and beyond. They can support themselves, their community and take part in nation-building by being job creators and business leaders in different fields.
