To empower and equip young people with skills and knowledge in readiness for the world of work, we extended the capacity building training to the beneficiaries of the Cyizere Girls Scholarship program. The training was held on 26th March 2022 and included the values of teamwork, leadership principles and entrepreneurship. Participants got an opportunity to be mentored by female business leaders and professionals in their fields in Rwanda who were key speakers training. They included Umulinga Karangwa, an Equity investment advisor and fund manager specialising in African markets and Noella Nibakuze, an architect who is currently the Design Director of MASS Design Group in Rwanda. The women provided an insight into how the participants would ensure that they have a well-rounded education and everything necessary to prepare them for the job market, job interviews, and the world at large.
The workshop provided an in-depth discussion on making career choices that not only offer an effective job opportunity but allow one to embrace a satisfactory and respectful lifestyle. They also learnt how to work toward their desired career path; making them more informed, confident, and dedicated to envisioning a brighter future.
With Christian values being at the core of our organization, Bertha Nyirasabimana led the participants through prayer and devotion on the parable of the talent from Mathew 25:14-30. She reminded them of the blessing God has bestowed on them-a full scholarship to study and have a profession and that they must always make the best of every blessing God has given them so that they can reap the benefits in equal measure.
